Kentucky Home Price Growth To Moderate
Potential Sellers Held Back By Inability To Buy Another Home

Sixty-eight percent of Kentucky REALTORS® said that the pent-up demand from spring had not eased up and demand was now stronger than this time last year, according to the July 2020 edition of the HousingIQ Survey of Kentucky REALTORS®. Only two out of five of the 336 REALTORS® from across Kentucky, expected home prices to increase more than the last twelve months.

Forty-five percent of Kentucky REALTORS® said that a greater number of their buyers were returning to the market according to the June 2020 edition of the HousingIQ Survey of Kentucky REALTORS®. Sixty-five percent of the 344 REALTORS® from across Kentucky reported that their buyers were not expecting lower prices.

Kentucky Homebuyers Bid Up Prices as Sellers Hold Back

Over three out of five Kentucky REALTORS® – 61% – said that their sellers were holding back listings due to current economic uncertainty, according to the May 2020 edition of the HousingIQ Survey of Kentucky REALTORS®. Almost 60% of the 374 REALTORS® from across Kentucky reported that their buyers had started to return to the market.

Home sellers take wait-and-see approach as buyers discouraged by stock market correction

Nearly two out of three REALTORS® — 65% — said their buyers were significantly discouraged by the recent stock market correction, according to the March 2020 edition of the HousingIQ Survey of Kentucky REALTORS®. 84% of the over 700 REALTORS® from across Kentucky reported that their sellers had not removed their homes from the market due to coronavirus fears.
